O estudante Gustavo Abreu Silva, 17 anos, que recentemente concluiu seus estudos no Colégio Estadual de Tempo Integral Carlos Souto, em Rio de Contas, se destacou na 19ª edição da Olimpíada Brasileira de Matemática das Escolas Públicas (OBMEP), conquistando a Medalha de Prata na classificação regional e a Medalha de Bronze em nível nacional, tornando-se um dos principais representantes da Bahia na competição.
A Olimpíada Brasileira de Matemática das Escolas Públicas é dividida em duas fases. A primeira fase, que é objetiva, reúne milhares de estudantes de todo o Brasil que disputam uma vaga na segunda etapa, onde as provas são discursivas e mais desafiadoras. Gustavo Silva se destacou em cada uma dessas etapas, e seu excelente desempenho foi reconhecido quando os resultados foram anunciados no último dia 20 de dezembro.
“O nível de dificuldade variava entre médio e difícil, com questões que exigiam bastante raciocínio lógico, além de outros conteúdos. No entanto, me preparei bem para as provas e obtive um bom desempenho. Graças ao apoio de professores como Liz Tanajura, que foi minha Professora no Ensino Fundamental e me apresentou à Olimpíada Brasileira de Matemática das Escolas Públicas, consegui conquistar a Medalha de Bronze”, declarou.
Essa trajetória de sucesso não é recente. Gustavo Abreu Silva possui um impressionante histórico de conquistas na Olimpíada Brasileira de Matemática das Escolas Públicas. Na 16ª edição, em 2020/2021, ele conquistou a Medalha de Prata nacional. Em 2022, na 17ª edição, recebeu novamente a Medalha de Prata nacional. Em 2023, na 18ª edição, ele foi premiado com as Medalhas de Bronze nacional e Prata regional, e em 2024, repetiu o feito ao ganhar as Medalhas de Bronze nacional e Prata regional.
“Ganhar essas Medalhas tem sido uma experiência muito gratificante. Sinto-me reconhecido e sei que isso é resultado do meu esforço e da minha paixão pela Matemática”, pontuou o estudante.
Além da Olimpíada Brasileira de Matemática das Escolas Públicas, Gustavo esteve envolvido em várias competições acadêmicas, como a Olimpíada Brasileira de Astronomia (OBA), a Olimpíada Tubarão da Matemática, a Olimpíada Brasileira de Informática (OBI), a Olimpíada Nacional de Eficiência Energética, a Maratona Cactus, a Mostra Brasileira de Foguetes (MOBFOG), a Olimpíada Brasileira de Raciocínio Lógico (OBRL) e a Olimpíada Mandacaru de Matemática.
