No último sábado, 21, Brumado sediou um evento significativo do Partido dos Trabalhadores (PT): uma Plenária que contou com a presença do candidato à presidência regional da legenda na Bahia, o sociólogo e ex-presidente estadual do partido, Jonas Paulo de Oliveira Neres, que atualmente ocupa o cargo de Coordenador-Executivo do Conselho de Desenvolvimento Econômico e Social do Estado da Bahia. A atividade teve como principal objetivo criar um espaço de diálogo aberto, no qual o candidato pôde apresentar suas propostas, discutir ações e traçar estratégias para o desenvolvimento local, regional e nacional.
Com a participação de filiados, simpatizantes e membros da comunidade local, a Plenária não apenas enfatizou as propostas do candidato da Corrente Nacional “Construindo um Novo Brasil (CNB)”, mas também fortaleceu o debate sobre a democracia interna do PT. O evento buscou incentivar a participação ativa dos filiados na escolha de seus representantes e na elaboração de um projeto político que atenda às necessidades e anseios da sociedade baiana e brasileira.
Durante sua fala, Jonas Paulo apresentou um histórico de sua atuação na presidência regional do PT baiano entre 2007 e 2014 e ressaltou a importância da união e da responsabilidade coletiva para recuperar o protagonismo político do partido. Ele enfatizou que o objetivo atual é reconquistar a liderança do PT, mobilizar a militância e enfrentar os desafios impostos pela direita e extrema-direita nas eleições de 2026.

Para Jonas Paulo, o PT na Bahia perdeu a capacidade de ser protagonista, de propor soluções e de liderar o Governo. Jonas Paulo, que tem como companheira de chapa a economista Ellen Coutinho, destacou sua intenção de restabelecer a conexão com os dirigentes dos Diretórios Municipais e com os movimentos sociais. Ele reforçou a importância da militância e das lideranças na construção de novas perspectivas, afirmando que a real força do PT sempre esteve na sua base e não em cargos ou documentos oficiais.
Nesse espírito, o candidato aproveitou a Plenária para divulgar suas plataformas, apresentar ideias inovadoras e ouvir as demandas das lideranças e da comunidade brumadense. Ele sublinhou que essa troca de experiências é fundamental para consolidar uma visão coletiva que esteja alinhada às prioridades regionais e, ao mesmo tempo, estimule a participação cidadã na política.
