A tradicional Festa de São Pedro do Povoado do Inácio, um dos eventos mais aguardados do Calendário Cultural de Planalto, foi oficialmente cancelada pela Prefeitura Municipal. A decisão foi anunciada no final da manhã, em meio ao clima de profunda comoção que tomou conta da cidade após o feminicídio brutal de Edlane Luz, ocorrido nas primeiras horas do dia.
Edlane Luz foi atropelada e esfaqueada em via pública pelo ex-companheiro, identificado como João Paulo. O crime chocou moradores e reacendeu o debate sobre a violência de gênero e a urgência de políticas públicas mais eficazes para proteger mulheres em situação de risco.
“Diante da tragédia que abalou nossa comunidade, não há clima para celebração. A dor é coletiva, e o momento é de luto e reflexão”, declarou ao JS o prefeito Cloves Alves Andrade (PT).
A Festa de São Pedro do Inácio é conhecida por reunir moradores da sede e da zona rural de Planalto e da microrregião em uma celebração marcada por fé, música, comidas típicas e apresentações culturais. A suspensão do evento representa não apenas um gesto de respeito à vítima e sua família, mas também um símbolo do impacto social que a violência contra a mulher provoca em toda a comunidade.
