O Governo do Estado, através da Secretaria de Estado de Desenvolvimento Rural da Bahia, distribuiu 90 mil mudas de Palma para famílias de agricultores em Livramento de Nossa Senhora. Essas mudas funcionarão como uma reserva alimentar para os rebanhos de caprinos, ovinos e bovinos de leite, contribuindo para a saúde dos animais durante períodos de seca severa.
A ação faz parte de um conjunto de iniciativas do Governo do Estado para mitigar os efeitos da seca na Bahia. O titular da Superintendência de Agricultura Familiar (Suaf), Euzimar Cordeiro Carneiro, destacou a importância do trabalho da Secretaria de Estado de Desenvolvimento Rural da Bahia. “Atendendo ao pedido do governador Jerônimo Rodrigues, estamos aprimorando as estratégias de adaptação às mudanças climáticas. O secretário Osni Cardoso enfatizou a necessidade de intensificar a distribuição de Palma Forrageira para a agricultura familiar, que serve como uma reserva alimentar estratégica. Além disso, a Palma desempenha um papel crucial na captação de carbono (CO₂), contribuindo para a preservação ambiental”, afirmou.

A audiência teve como foco os impactos da estiagem prolongada no Estado. Durante o encontro, foi apresentado um Plano com medidas emergenciais e estruturais voltadas para apoiar os municípios mais afetados. A expectativa é que, na próxima semana, o Estado anuncie um novo pacote de ações para fortalecer o combate à seca no setor rural.
