O Papa Leão XIV nomeou nesta sexta-feira, 4, como Bispo Auxiliar da Arquidiocese Metropolitana de São Salvador da Bahia, o Monsenhor Gilvan Pereira Rodrigues, do Clero da Diocese de Caetité, Reitor do Seminário Teológico de Belo Horizonte, atribuindo-lhe a Sé Titular de Tisili (Circunscrição Eclesiástica/Diocese).
O anuncio foi feito no Brasil pela Nunciatura Apostólica, apontando que a nomeação do Monsenhor Gilvan Pereira Rodrigues pelo Papa Leão XIV acolheu solicitação feita pelo Cardeal Arcebispo de Salvador e Primaz do Brasil Dom Sérgio da Rocha. Ao Clero da Diocese de Caetité, no final do Retiro Espiritual dos Padres, o comunicado da decisão do Papa foi feito pelo Bispo Diocesano, Dom José Roberto Silva Carvalho.
Em Nota, a Conferência Nacional dos Bispos do Brasil (CNBB) congratulou-se com o novo Bispo nomeado, “agradecendo pelo ‘sim’ generoso e desejando um Ministério frutífero, conduzido pelo Espírito Santo, especialmente junto à Igreja de Salvador. Que Nossa Senhora Aparecida e São Francisco Xavier, Patrono das Missões, o acompanhe nessa nova etapa da Missão Episcopal”.
Juntamente com o Monsenhor Gilvan Pereira Rodrigues, o Papa Leão XIV nomeou o Monsenhor Gabriel dos Santos Filho, atual Vigário Geral e Pároco da Arquidiocese de Salvador.
A ordenação de Monsenhor Gilvan Pereira Rodrigues será realizada na Paróquia Sagrado Coração de Jesus, em Caculé, no próximo dia 28 de setembro. Ele será apresentado à Arquidiocese de São Salvador no dia 11 de outubro.
Quem é o novo Arcebispo Auxiliar de Salvador
Dom Gilvan Pereira Rodrigues nasceu em 19 de setembro de 1972, em Mortugaba. Realizou seus estudos em Filosofia no Instituto de Filosofia Nossa Senhora das Vitórias, localizado em Vitória da Conquista, e em Teologia no Instituto Santo Tomás de Aquino, em Belo Horizonte (MG). O Mestrado em Comunicação Social foi obtido na Universidade São Francisco, em São Paulo (SP). Além disso, cursou Licenciatura em Teologia Moral/Bioética na Pontifícia Academia Alfonsiana, em Roma, e graduou-se em Psicologia na Pontifícia Universidade Católica de Minas Gerais, em Belo Horizonte.
Foi ordenado sacerdote em 17 de outubro de 1999, integrando-se à Diocese de Caetité. Ao longo de sua trajetória, ocupou diversos cargos, tais como: Vigário Paroquial em Brumado (1999-2006); Coordenador e Professor da Escola de Teologia para Leigos da Diocese de Caetité (2000-2006); membro do Conselho Presbiteral e do Colégio de Consultores (2002-2007); Vigário Paroquial da Paróquia Santa Maria Assunta em Blera, na Diocese de Viterbo, Itália (2007-2009); Pároco do Sagrado Coração de Jesus em Caculé (2010-2016); Coordenador Diocesano de Pastoral (2010-2015); e Administrador Diocesano da Diocese de Caetité (2015-2017).
Atualmente, Dom Gilvan Pereira Rodrigues é Reitor do Seminário Teológico Nossa Senhora de Guadalupe, em Belo Horizonte (MG), além de ser membro do Conselho para as Ordens Sacras.
