No Baixo Sul da Bahia, mulheres que antes eram invisíveis, relegadas ao papel de coadjuvantes em suas próprias histórias, agora se erguem como protagonistas. A Cooperativa Feminina da Agricultura Familiar e Economia Solidária de Valença (Coomafes) é um exemplo poderoso de como a agricultura familiar pode ser um motor de mudança social, econômico e cultural. Com o apoio de iniciativas do setor privado, como a Binatural, empresa brasileira especialista na produção de biodiesel, essas mulheres estão rompendo barreiras, conquistando autonomia financeira e transformando suas vidas e localidades.
A história da Cooperativa Feminina da Agricultura Familiar e Economia Solidária de Valença começa com uma realidade comum entre muitas mulheres rurais: apesar de serem as principais responsáveis pela produção no campo, a renda gerada muitas vezes não chegava até elas. O marido, por tradição, era quem levava o produto para a cidade e administrava o dinheiro. Essa dinâmica começou a mudar quando um grupo de mulheres decidiu se unir e criar um espaço onde pudessem comercializar seus produtos diretamente. Assim nasceu uma Feira, um ponto de encontro que se tornou muito mais do que um espaço de vendas. Virou um local de troca de experiências, aprendizado e fortalecimento mútuo.
“Na Feira, não apenas vendemos, mas nos encontramos, trocamos sementes, experiências e, principalmente, nós apoiamos umas às outras. É um espaço de terapia e de celebração”, conta Maria Joselita Santos, mais conhecida como Branca, uma das líderes da Cooperativa. Hoje, cerca de 30 mulheres se reúnem semanalmente, levando para casa não apenas produtos, mas também dignidade e reconhecimento. Contudo, o número de mulheres integrantes da Cooperativa é ainda maior, com mais de 100 cooperadas.
Dados do Ministério da Agricultura e Pecuária mostram que a agricultura familiar é responsável por aproximadamente 70% dos alimentos consumidos no Brasil, e que as mulheres são a força motriz por trás de 40% dessa produção. De acordo com dados do último Censo Agro do IBGE, apenas 19% dos estabelecimentos agropecuários são geridos por mulheres. “Queremos mudar essa realidade”, afirma Branca, que incentiva a Autogestão e a Educação entre as cooperadas. A invisibilidade das mulheres no campo ainda é uma realidade e iniciativas como a da Cooperativa Feminina da Agricultura Familiar e Economia Solidária de Valença são essenciais para mudar esse panorama.
A Binatural, especialista na produção de biodiesel, tem sido uma parceira fundamental nessa transformação. Larissa dos Santos de Jesus, por sua vez, diz que a agricultura familiar não é apenas uma questão de sustento, mas uma paixão que lhe foi passada pela família. “Aprendi a amar a terra e a cultivar com responsabilidade. A Cooperativa me deu a chance de fazer isso com outras mulheres e crescermos juntas”, ressalta.
O papel do setor privado, como a Binatural, é crucial para a continuidade dessas histórias de superação.
