Diante do aumento expressivo de internações causadas pelo Vírus Sincicial Respiratório (VSR), que tem atingido principalmente crianças pequenas e idosos, o Conselho Estadual de Saúde da Bahia faz um apelo à população sobre a importância da imunização, principalmente para as faixas etárias indicadas a se vacinar.
Desde o início de março, a Bahia, assim como outras regiões do país, tem registrado um crescimento constante na circulação do VSR, com taxas de positividade superiores às observadas nos últimos três anos. O vírus é um dos principais causadores da Síndrome Respiratória Aguda Grave (SRAG), e atualmente diversos Estados já estão em situação de alerta, risco ou alto risco para a doença.
Segundo o presidente do Conselho Estadual de Saúde da Bahia (CES-BA), Marcos Gêmeos, a vacinação é a principal ferramenta de prevenção contra as formas graves da infecção. “É importante que todas as pessoas incluídas nos grupos prioritários, como crianças de 6 meses a menores de 6 anos, gestantes e idosos com mais de 60 anos, compareçam aos Postos de Saúde para se vacinar”.
Também fazem parte do público alvo: povos indígenas, povos quilombolas, pessoas em situação de rua, profissionais das Forças de Segurança e de Salvamento, profissionais das Forças Armadas, pessoas com deficiência permanente, trabalhadores da Saúde, caminhoneiros, trabalhadores dos Correios, população privada de liberdade, entre outros.
De acordo com Marcos Gêmeos, a vacinação não é uma escolha dos pais, e sim, um direito da criança, como está previsto no Artigo 14, §1º do Estatuto da Criança e do Adolescente (ECA): É obrigatória a vacinação das crianças nos casos recomendados pelas autoridades sanitárias. “A vacina é um ato de amor, os pais não podem negar a criança o direito de se vacinar”, reforça.
Dados do Sistema de Informação da Vigilância Epidemiológica da Gripe (Sivep-Gripe) mostram que, até a 18ª Semana Epidemiológica de 2025, foram notificados 2.916 casos de Síndrome Respiratória Aguda Grave (SRAG) na Bahia, uma redução de 37,11% em relação ao mesmo período de 2024. As faixas etárias com maior incidência são menores de 5 anos, representando 47,9% dos casos.
O Conselho Estadual de Saúde da Bahia reforça a necessidade de atuação conjunta entre poder público, Unidades de Saúde, lideranças comunitárias e meios de comunicação para conscientizar e incentivar a população. Entre as estratégias de incentivo estão:
· Ampliar os Postos de Vacinação para terminais de transporte visando atender o público dos trabalhadores do transporte rodoviário coletivo urbano e de longo curso
· Ampliar os horários de funcionamento dos Postos de Vacinação no Dia D;
· Incluir na Campanha de Vacinação nas Escolas a vacina contra a gripe para os professores
· Garantir acesso em áreas rurais, comunidades remotas quilombolas e indígenas;
· Realizar campanhas educativas em rádios locais e redes sociais.
Como forma de ampliar a proteção da população nesse momento de aumento de casos de doenças respiratórias, vai ocorrer neste sábado (10), em 80% do Estado, o Dia D da Vacinação.
Também é importante que a população esteja atenta aos sinais do VSR, como febre, tosse, dificuldade para respirar e chiado no peito. Em caso de sintomas, é essencial buscar atendimento médico o mais rápido possível, evitar a automedicação, manter repouso, hidratação adequada, utilizar máscara, fazer uso do álcool em gel, evitar contato próximo com outras pessoas, principalmente bebês e idosos.
